These are the factors that lead to bad breath:
Written By Sally Sea
Medications, including allergy medications can cause bad breath.
Alcoholic beverages, mouthwash with alcohol, smoking, and dry mouth
all contribute to bed breath.
Lack of oxygen in the mouth which may be caused from alcohol or
medications that can lead to dry mouth. This combination creates the
perfect breeding ground for the Anaerobic Sulfur-Producing Bacteria
that cause bad breath. Basically, bacteria in the mouth causes bad
breath.
I'll bet your breath in the morning is not the sweetest thing
around. When you're resting at night your mouth will get drier then
while you're awake, so the bacteria grows in your mouth. So when you
wake up you've got "morning breath". And if you're sick or congested
your most likely breathing out of your mouth, you'll notice your
breath stinks then. So your dry mouth is breeding bacteria which
causes bad breath.
So how can I avoid the bacteria that is causing the bad breath.
Scientific clinical research on bacteria explains why bacteria
causes bad breath and gives the best treatment for eliminating it.
This should come as no surprise, commercials and ads that are always
telling you that the best way to deal with bad breath is to use a
mouthwash. Fact of the matter is most mouthwashes that are supposed
to stop bad breath, usually make bad breath worse.
How's that?
Bacteria lives and breeds beneath the tongue's surface,
it's also on the tonsils and in the throat. You can't scrape or
brushed it off, and it can't be dissolved with a mouthwash. Most of
these products contain alcohol which dries out the mouth, instead of
getting rid of bad breath, it creates an environment for bacteria to
grow.
Does Food Cause Bad Breath?
You bet your onion mouth it does. Foods like onions and garlic will
cause bad breath, they have the same stuff in them that we talked
about earlier. If you going to eat a lot of these foods, plan on
having bacteria in your mouth that will lead to halitosis. And
here's the catch the bacteria that causes bad breath is in
everyone's mouth, has to be, because we need them to break down
certain proteins in some foods.
Scientist are still trying to find out why some people develop more
of the bacteria than others. It's this abundance of bacteria that
causes bad breath.
OK, this is the secret to getting rid of halitosis...
To get rid of bad breath all you have to do is eliminate the bad
bacteria by changing them to non-odorous volatile sulfur compounds.
There are products that you can find at your local grocery store
that will cost you less than two dollars, that you can mix together
and end your bad breath problem forever.
Mouthwashes and mints that give you a medicated taste are only
masking your bad breath, you've still got it, they just make you
think that you don't.
